How do google images get all those pictures

does this problem occur in Incognito mode https://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95464&p=cpn_incognito

perhaps you have some extensions or plugins and even popup blockers that do this?

Click the “wrench” icon in the top right-hand corner and select “Tools.” click the “Clear browsing data…” button. Make sure that “Clear Browsing History” and “Clear Download History” and “Empty Cache” and “Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data” are selected. Click on “Clear browsing data.” Exit and relaunch the browser.

There's a command line switch you can add to the target field of a Chrome desktop shortcut:
--disable-images

You can also disable JavaScript:
--disable-javascript
or plugins:
--disable-plugins
