84 how to add effect to iphoto? any advice will be appreciated.

I think the easy answer is to have a go with the adjustments. It is easy to remove them if you don't like the effect, or make a new version from master if you like it. Then start again with the new version and try to improve on the first with side by side comparisons.

I didn't find silhouette effect in iPhoto, but you can use photoshop to apply the effect to your photos.
