You need to do two things to create a true line graph. Firstly create your columns of data, then secondly convert these columns to an XY scatter graph. In this example we’ll create a line graph showing the Y axis values as double the X axis values. Firstly you need to create two columns of data, one labelled X and the other Y with values under each heading. We’ll enter X in cell D1 and Y in cell E1. Then in cell D2 enter 2, in D3 enter 3 and so on until in D6 enter 6. Then in cell E2 enter 4, in cell E3 enter 6 and so on until E6 enter 12. So you end up with two columns of figures under the headings X and Y. The Y figures are double the X figures.

To create the line graph you first select both columns of data, including the labels. Then you next create the line graph. To do this choose the Insert tab, then in the Charts commands group click the down arrow on the XY Scatter button. Choose one of the options which includes lines rather than just dots and your line graph will be created, usually in the same sheet as your data. Answered Dec, 29 2010

Description: Create a box plot displaying median and percentiles. The argument x must be a numeric-valued vector and the argument y must be a numeric-valued vector or matrix. The row dimension of x must be greater than or equal to the column dimension of y.
Examples: If, at the O-Matrix prompt you enter clear
N = 6
x = seq(N)^2
Y = rand(100,N)
sbox(x, Y)
SigmaPlot will create the following box plot

Hey, you may try in this way:

1.Turn your graphing calculator on and locate the icon on the home screen that is labeled "Stats/List Editor." Press enter once you are on that icon and then press enter again to get into the editing screen.

2.At the editing screen you will see four columns that are simply labeled "List 1, List 2" and so on. Enter the data that you would like to plot in List 1.

3.Locate the F2 button, which is at the top of your calculator under the screen, once the data is entered. Push this button and select the "Plot Set-Up" option.

4.Push the "F1" button when you arrive at the plot setup screen. This will bring you to another screen that lets you determine what kind of graph you would like to be drawn from the data.

5.Under "Plot Type", push the right arrow button. Doing this brings up a little screen with five available options. Choose the "Box Plot" option by highlighting it and pushing enter.

6.Tell the calculator the data you want used is in List 1 by typing the word "List1" in the box for "X." This is done by pressing the blue "2nd" button then the white "Alpha" button and using the keys on the calculator.

7.Pressing "Enter" twice now brings you back to the plot set-up screen. At this screen, pressing the "F5" button will give you the picture of the box plot you have just asked the calculator to draw.

8.Paste it to ppt. Answered Nov, 29 2010
