intel i3 processor

my sister recently bought pc with configuration intel i3 processor with supported intel mother board + ddr 3 4gb ram and 500gb hd .I installed windows 7 os and the problem arises when i install the graphics driver form the driver cd supplied by the vendor , the system reboots very time, and when I set the resolution to default lower level it works nice,and when i increase the resolution to higer level , paralle lines displays on the screen and the system hangs.After uninstalling the graphics driver the system works good with windows basic driver install ,but the problem is the resolution is very low and the icons are diplayed very larger.
