Right while it is booting up do you hit F8, before the windows logo comes up. Safe mode only opens the programs necessary to barely run the computer, and nothing else. Just tap the F8 key a bunch of times while it is booting so you can't go wrong. Answered Aug, 09 2011

i think you shou search "msconfig" on internet.
Once you have the window up: click on the BOOT tab
check box the SAFE BOOT (minimal) basically all you need...
check box the "make all boot settings permanent"
then apply and reboot
if you want to go back to normal windows,do the same and just uncheck the safe boot and make all boot settings permanent and reboot Answered Aug, 02 2011

If your computer is running on Windows XP, then do this: Restart your computer and when it boots up, press the F8 key until the options window comes up. From there, you can switch from Safe Mode to Normal Mode. Answered Aug, 05 2011
