Click the network icon to launch "Network and Sharing Center", click "Change adapter settings", drag and drop your ADSL to desktop will create a shortcut for your ADSL connection in Windows 7.

Copy the shortcut to "Startup" folder in start menu > all programs. Then you can get your computer to connect to the internet automatically at startup.

I’m not familiar with macs but on windows you can do this sort of thing using “scheduled tasks”. Perhaps you will be able to find a mac equivalent. hope you can work it out
