1Add physical memory. In the System Requirements of Photoshop CS/CS2,need 256MB physical memory of minimun.and in Photoshop CS4 512MB of RAM at least (1GB recommended).
2.More Scratch disk. For the best performance, scratch disk to a defragmented hard disk and at least 5 times to your physical memory.RAID 0 partitions provide the best possible performance as Photoshop scratch disks.
3.Close other programs to save memory
4.Reduce the number of History states.if you reduce the number of history states available, you potentially reduce the number of copies of your image using scratch space
