Windows XP :
Quit Dreamweaver.
Choose Start > My Computer.
Navigate to /Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/<language>/.
Note: If you are unable to location the Application Data folder, see To show hidden files, hidden folders, and extensions for known file types.
Rename the Configuration folder to ConfigurationOld.
Close Windows Explorer.
Choose Start > Run.
Type regedit in the run textbox and press Enter.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/Dreamweaver.
Delete the 10.0 key.
Close the Registry Editor.
Start Dreamweaver.

Windows Vista/7
Quit Dreamweaver.
Choose Start > My Computer.
Navigate to /Users/<username>/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/<language>/.
Note: If you are unable to location the AppData folder, see To show hidden files, hidden folders, and extensions for known file types.
Rename the Configuration folder to ConfigurationOld.
Close Windows Explorer.
Click Start, type regedit the search field and press Enter.
In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Adobe/Dreamweaver.
Delete the 10.0 key.
Close the Registry Editor.
Start Dreamweaver.

Mac OS X
Quit Dreamweaver.
Go to Computer.
Navigate to /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/ Mac HD/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/.
Rename Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Prefs to Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Prefs Old.
If the problem recurs, then the Dreamweaver user configuration files aren't the cause. To restore custom settings, quit Dreamweaver, then delete the new configuration folder and restore the original name of the previous configuration folder.

If the problem is resolved after re-creating the user configuration folder, update your preferences with the original settings and delete the old configuration folder. Answered Dec, 17 2010
