When you play the files on Windows Media Player, does it play the sound as well? If not, you might need to install the codec needed by the files created by the camera for you to be able to hear the audio.

You can also check from within Live Movie Maker if the audio is muted on the video by clicking on the edit button and then selecting video volume. From there, make sure slide the volume to the right.

Make sure that you have the latest Beta version installed on your PC, many features were added on AUG 17 2010: Webcam capture on Win7, Snapshot capturing, etc.
Download from here: explore.live.com/windows-live-essentials-beta

Also, I highly recommend that you take a look at the video tutorials on YouTube.com/LiveMovieMaker.

Let me know if you have more questions, thanks!

1.

Open the project you want to use. Click the Home tab.

You see the main WLMM screen.
2.

In the Soundtrack area, click the Add icon.
3.

Navigate to the sound file that you want to superimpose on the movie and click Open.

You can use sound clips from any source — including those ripped by Windows Media Player from a CD.

In the current version of WLMM, you can only add one sound file. If the song is shorter than the movie, you won’t hear any superimposed sound after the song ends. Likewise, if the song is longer than the movie, the song will stop abruptly when the movie ends.
4.

Click the Mix icon.

WLMM shows you a mixer.
5.

Adjust the mixer to balance the original soundtrack and the music file.

You can slide the mixer to the left to increase the sound that was recorded with the movie or to the right to increase the volume of the superimposed sound file.

If you don’t want to hear any of the sound that was recorded with the original clips, move the slider all the way to the right.

The choice you make affects the entire movie: you can’t mix individual clips or parts of clips.
6.

When you’re happy with the result, save your project.

You’re ready to make your movie available to the outside world.

To mute audio in a video clip, do the following:
First, On the Audio or Audio/Music track of the timeline, click the audio clip that you want to mute. To select multiple clips, press and hold down the CTRL key as you click clips.
Second, Click Clip, point to Audio, and then click Mute.
OK, the clip sound has been mute now. I hope my solution can help you. Good luck~ Answered Mar, 08 2011

I think there's a way to do that.
Place the first sound track in the timeline and save video.
Then import that same video. It will now have the audio from the first sound track. Now place the second sound track in the timeline and save video. Now you will have both sound tracks on the finnished video.

Remember you can't have 2 audio tracks in the timeline at any one time. Answered Feb, 27 2011
