how to lighten an image on illustrator cs4

My classmate told me that I can use illustrator cs4 to do my homework, however, I didn't know how to lighten an image on it! Who can help me? Thanks in advance!

I guess it just depends on how you plan on doing this, how big you want to make it in comparison to what it was before etc

i mean, if the image is 50x50 (px) and you want to make it 400x400 (px) then i guess you will need to spend some time tidying the image up to make it appear normal.

I cant give you an exact technical answer, however i hope my "2 cents" have helped you in some way.

It is very simple to add border to a picture in Adobe illustrator. Once you practice it for a few times you can get over it. And make perfect borders for your pictures. See the link below for step by step guide.
