Google Quick Search Box In Windows 7 Taskbar

Originally, Windows Quick Search Box was introduced for Mac only, but Google has included it as part of Internet Explorer 8 toolbar too.

Actually, you can add Google Search on Win 7 desktop.

Windows Tool tips are small information boxes that appear when we place the cursor on any icon. It can be removed like this:
1. Click Start – Run, type REGEDIT and press enter. This will open the Windows Registry Editor.
2. Now, navigate through to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software
\Microsoft
\Windows
\CurrentVersion
\Explorer
\Advanced
3. Look for the DWORD “ShowInfoTip“, right-click and select Modify and change the value data as required

1 – Enable ToolTips (Default)
0 – Disable ToolTips

This should enable or disable Tool Tips in Windows. Answered Jun, 16 2011

1. Pin an item you don’t actually want in the taskbar.Here i use Gom Media Player. Right click the item and choose Pin to taskbar.
2. Create the Show Desktop icon. You can download it from the webste. Or create it by youself. Paste the code below to the notepad and export a .scf file.
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the file into the following directory, whether you download or create the desktop file yourself.
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
3. Right click the item you pinned earlier (in my case, TweetDeck) and choose Properties. Enable the Shortcut tab. Paste the code below into the Target Field.
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\Desktop.scf
4. Click on Change Icon in the Shortcut tab. A new window opens, and paste the following code %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll into the Browse field and press Enter.
Find the logo you usually use for the Show Desktop icon.
5. Log off or restart your computer to apply the settings. You should see the Show Desktop icon in the taskbar Answered Feb, 19 2011
