Go to the control panel and select "system and security" click "administrative tools" click "computer management" In the left panel click "Disk Management" Right click on the drive you want to format and select FAT32 as the file system type.

You can also open a command prompt with administrator privileges and type the following

format X: /FS:FAT32
where X is drive letter of your drive which you want to formate. Answered Nov, 30 2010

right click the Installer > Properties > Compatibility > Check XP
or
try a manual setup by going to Control Panel and selecting Add New Hardware and going to the page/window where you get the option "Have Disk..."
and there you could search for and point to the relevant .inf (info) file from the setup folder to enable the OS to pick it up and install it from there. Answered Dec, 30 2010

Stop running a ripped version and just get the game on Steam. Or you will buy a new computer. Answered Jul, 25 2011
