how to edit hosts file to disable the activation of adobe cs5

You can disable Adobe CS4 Activation Check by editing your windows “hosts” file.

For that- open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with notepad and paste the following at the end:

127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 3dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-2.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.wip3.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate-sea.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate-sjc0.adobe.com
PS: This is not for cracking your pirated Adobe CS4. Please buy original product, and if you don’t have that much money you can go for alternative tools like GIMP for Photoshop, Aptana for Dreamweaver etc.

take the steps as following:

You can disable Adobe CS4 Activation Check by editing your windows “hosts” file.

For that- open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts with notepad and paste the following at the end:

127.0.0.1 activate-sjc0.adobe.com

You can paste it before of after the current text. Lines starting with the # symbol is comments.

Save it in desktop. and then Copy and paste the host file in “C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc”. You will get a message box asking to replace the file. Select the replace option Answered Jan, 24 2011
