How to type dashes in excel?

I need to type dash in a unit in excel.
When I type "-" into a unit, something will be added.
Could you tell me how to type a dash?

Just input a " ' " symbol before the " - " and you will get what you want.

1,Open the Excel worksheet .
2,Click the "Format" drop-down in the "Cells" group of the "Home" tab in Excel 2007 and select "Format Cells."
3,Go to the "Number" tab of the "Format Cells" dialog box. Select "Number" in the "Category" box. Change "Decimal Places" to "0" and click "OK."
4,Open the "Find and Replace" dialog ,"Ctrl+H" .
5,Type a dash into the "Find What" box.

You can create a bitmap and paste that in line with the text.

Make the zoom 100%, type a character similar to what you want in size, then
take a screen shot. Use the image that was captured as a starting point for
the bitmap that you create.

please click the AutoShapes in the botttom of the sheet, then click more AutoShapes, then you willl see te start. Answered May, 27 2011
