how to change non steam game icons 2010

sponsored ads

Hello, all! I want to use my own jpg's designed for non steam. But it seems to ask for an exe-file when I click "Change Icon"?!For non steam games,I don't see anything but the icon if it exists and the title in a regular font. Is there a way to make the decals for it so it shows them like they were a normal game? Thanks for your help. Asked Dec, 30 2010

Hi. I have a way to achieve that. In my opinion, You didn't know how to change them,so you created desktop icons, and changed them with custom ones, Is this good for you. Good luck! Answered Dec, 30 2010

1 Log out and exit Steam
2 Navigate to the folder where Steam is installed (by default: C:\Program Files\Steam\)
3 Delete all of the files and folders except the SteamApps folder and Steam.exe
4 Cut and paste your Steam folder to the new location, for example: D:\Games\Steam\
5 Launch Steam
6 Steam will briefly update and then you will be ready to play
7 All future game content will be downloaded to the new folder D:\Games\Steam\Steamapps\

I support both of these. Particularly annoying is that the shortcut arrow seems to be added no matter what -- I followed these instructions for getting rid of the arrow (specifically, the .reg version), and while normal shortcuts now appear without the arrow, Steam still adds it.
