Adobe Reader 7.0.7 update pane doesn't have the Preferences ,A firewall can also help stop your computer from sending malicious software to other computers. If you want to enable adobe update then check from start menu . run then type regedit > Locate and select the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ key. Right-click on updateMgr, if it is not available then you need reinstall Adobe. Answered Jan, 25 2011

Open Control Panel\Windows Firewall\Advanced Settings\Outbound Rules. Create a rule for photoshop with the appropriate settings. You could also try something like Comodo CIS which works well under windows 7. Answered Jan, 12 2011

Open your windows firewall, look for "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security"and choose it.
Select "Inbound Rules" (you might have to wait a second for the
programs to appear), you should see a list of programs on your computer.
Choose the one you want to block and right-click it Answered Jun, 26 2011
