Well, please try to do that by taking this way:
1 Click on "File" and then on "New."

2 Point the mouse cursor to "Software and Database." Click on "UML Model (UIS Units)."

3 Click on the "UML Sequence" template, located in the "Shapes" menu.

4 Click on the "Object" stencil, located in the list of shapes that opens under the "Shapes" menu. Hold the click and drag the stencil into the work area.

5 Click on the "Object" stencil again and drag a second stencil into the work area.

6 Click on the first stencil and delete "Object 1" from the dialog box that opens. Click inside the box and type "Patient." Click on "OK."

7 Click on the second stencil and delete "Object 2" from the dialog box that opens. Click inside the box and type "System." Click on "OK."

8 Click on the "Activation Bar" Stencil and drag it onto the vertical line that descends below "Patient." Release the mouse click when the Activation Bar becomes red.

9 Click on the "Activation Bar" stencil and drag it onto the vertical line that descends below "System." Release the mouse click when the Activation Bar becomes red.

10 Click on the "Message" Stencil and drag it into the work space. Click on the arrow's "head" and drag it to the Activation Bar that is attached to "System." Click on its "tail" and drag it to the Activation Bar that is attached to "Patient."

11 Click on the horizontal message arrow that is now connected to both "Object" and "System" and drag it as close to the top of the stencils as possible.

12 Click on the "Message" Stencil and drag it into the work space. Click on the arrow's "head" and drag it to the Activation Bar that is attached to "Object." Click on its "tail" and drag it to the Activation Bar that is attached to "System."

13 Click on the horizontal message arrow that you just created and drag it so that it is below the first message.

14 Click on the higher of the two messages. Delete "Message1" from the dialog box that opens and type "To System." Click on "OK."

15 Click on the lower of the two messages. Delete "Message2" from the dialog box that opens and type "To Patient." Click on "OK."

Hi, you can do as follows:
1.Open your Microsoft Office Visio flow charting software program and create a new document. To illustrate the concept, consider a system where a craftsman creates jewelry and sells it to clients and issues receipts for each sale.
2.Click "New" in the File tab. Then click "Software and Database," and then double-click "Data Flow Diagram." A blank document with grid lines will appear with the four main Data Flow Diagram (DFD) stencil on the left.
3.Create a Data Store by selecting the narrow horizontal rectangle with an open end on its right side. This will be the third diagram on the stencil. Drag it to the document area and use the Text tool to insert text.
4.Create a Process diagram by dragging the rectangle with rounded corners into the document work area directly under the Data Store diagram.
5.Draw another Data Store. You can copy the previous one on the right side of the Process diagram and label it "Client Data."
6.Drag the solid rectangle from the stencil and place it directly under the Jewelry Orders process and label it "Client." Create two arrowed lines.
7.Type additional labels on the arrowed lines to indicate the processes that are occurring. For example, type "Credit Status" on the line flowing from "Client Data" to "Jewelry Orders."
8.Show the flow of data between data flow entities as data only.
9.Associate more flows with the data store and processes as desired. Answered Jan, 19 2011

The way to draw a simple "spiral" using a pair of compasses is to first draw a horizontal line and place two points on it A and B. The distance between them is the distance you want betwen the lines on the spiral say 1 cm.....

Place the point of the compasses on B and the pencil on A draw a semi circle to meet the line. Now move the point of the compasses to point A and the pencil to the "finish end" of the semi circle you just drew (expanding the compasses by the distance between A and B) draw another semi circle to meet the line. Repeat the sequence expanding the compasses and changing the centre point.......

You can achieve the same in VISIO using quater circles and the grid to guide you through the sequence.

Hope this helps
