EndNote X1 and later are compatible with Word 2007.
If you want to use EndNote in Word 2010, just update EndNote X1 to EndNote X3 or X4.
Another solution is that, install Word 2007 and uninstall Word 2010.
The former is recommended. Answered Dec, 16 2010

  • Click the spot in your text where the endnote reference mark should appear.
  • Click the "References" tab.
  • Press "Insert Endnote" and type your endnote text in the appropriate spot. Word automatically forwards you to the correct location.
  • Click "Show Notes" to return to your document.
