How to Enable or Disable Windows 7 System Protection

Solution

  1. Open a System Properties window.   2. Now click the "System Protection" tab.

  3. Under "Protection Settings", highlight one of the disks that you want to enable or disable for System Protection, for example disk E. Then click the button Configure to open a dialog for the selected disk.

  4. Click either the radio button "Restore system settings and previous versions of files", or, "Only restore previous versions of files", and drag the slider to set the size of the disk space usage. Then click OK to go back to the System Properties dialog, and you will see that the disk partition E is now enabled for protection. To disable a disk, click the radio button "Turn off system protection".

  5. Click the button OK to close the dialog.
