How to Fix Error Code 10 In Windows XP

Have you come across "Error Code 10"? That's quite a headache. This error code means that there is something wrong with connection between the USB device and the computer. When you meet this trouble, you can do like this.

Solution

  1. First, you need to make sure that there are something wrong with the computer, but not the USB device, if there is anything wrong with your USB device, you need to  repair it at the shop where you buy it. So you'd better plug it in other computer to make sure it's your computer error.
  2. Click "start" and right click on "My computer", choose "Properties".

  3. Choose "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager".

  4. Locate "USB Serial Bus Controllers", click the "+" sign to expand this section. There should be a yellow exclamation mark beside a USB device. Double click on it, you will see "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

  5. Click "OK" to quit this device. Go back to Device Manager.
  6. Right-click on every USB device and click "Uninstall"

  7. Restart your computer. The operating system will re-install the USB controllers automatically. You have solve the problem successfully
