Google Swiffy, Convert Flash SWF Files to HTML5

The war between Adobe and Apple over flash technology is becoming fierce. Apple's iOS doesn't support swf files anymore. Well, recently Google Labs rolled out a new tool called Swiffy aiming to remedy the issue Flash and mobile platforms iPhone and iPad.

Solution

Google Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 8 and ActionScript 2.0, and the output works in all Webkit browsers such as Chrome and Mobile Safari. It is said the result are files which are almost as compact as the original SWF files.
I test some swf files and it seems to do quite a decent job of converting SWF files. However, currently the input SWF files could not be larger than 1024 KB, and the output html5 files are slightly larger than the input SWF file in most cases.

You can download or preview the Swiffy conversion at the following URL that have a validation period of 15 mins. It’s also able to include it on your website using an <iframe> tag. 

Hope Google and Adobe will come up with a new version of Flash that could export HTML5 video so that we users can circumvent the conversion process for our device.

HTML5 is the fifth revision of HTML standard, it may replace flash in the future and bring a easier life for web developers, however it's still under development and if you want to convert flash to html5, at least 3 great tools may help.
It seems that Apply will never add flash support to its iOS product. If you want to play your flash animation on iPhone or iPad, you need to convert the swf to some compatible formats like html5 webm.
