Hide or Disable Relationship Status on Facebook

I usually use Yahoo mail to send or receive emails. Though I have Microsoft Outlook in my PC, but I have never used it until my friend introduced it to me last week. I am so unfamiliar with Outlook that I've no idea when I want to hide the status bar. You know, I do not like too many things in the face of Outlook. So, could someone tell me how to hide the bar?
