Solution
If you have Paragon Backup and Recovery installed already, please jump to step 5 and continue.
- Download Paragon Backup and Recovery from its website.
- Run the program setup, if you are using the "Suite" Editon of Paragon Backup and Recovery, you will need to enter the Product Key and Serial Number to continue installation process. This step won't be appeared in the Free Edition, which lacks some advanced features.
- Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
- After rebooting into Windows, you will see a ballon pop-up in system tray, which was prompting you to create snapshots by Paragon System Backup. You can ignore the message and then use Paragon Drive Backup Professional for better customization, or refer Automatic Backup your entire hard disk with Paragon System Backup to know more.
- Click on the Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite shortcut on desktop, choose "Switch to Full Scale Drive Backup Pro" under the first "Backup & Recovery" tab.
- In Paragon Backup and Recovery 10 Suite main window, select "Wizards > Backup Utilities > Synthetic Backup" on the top menu bar.
- On the Browse for Archive page, you only need to specify the required archive.
- Now "Synthesis settings" page appears. The "Image split" section under "Backup image options" label is the place to configure the splitting function. Check "Enable image splitting" and then specify a split size before clicking Next. You can also use "Compression level" option to optimize the archive.

- After selecting for a proper location to save the image, you can then make some comment to describe the archive.
- Now you can overview all the backup options. If you find something incorrect, click on the hyperlinks to return the corresponding page for re-configuring.
- Click Next to begin the process to split backup archives with Paragon Backup and Recovery.
- When you want to join the backup archives, you can repeat step 6 to step 12, add each parts of the archive to database and uncheck "Enable image splitting" in step 8.
