How to Make a Digital Clock in PowerPoint Presentation

When you deliver a PowerPoint presentation, you may forget the time and the time is limited usually. So you'd better know what time your presentation has cost so that you can manage your presentation, slower or faster. However, PowerPoint application itself doesn't have this function. We have to add this function by ourselves. Fortunately, there is an add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint. Let me show you.

Solution

  1. TM Timer add-in is created by Tushar Mehta. Go to download it.
  2. Open the "ppt-timer.zip" file to find "ppt-timer.ppa". Then double click on it.
  3. Then you will find "TM" add-in has been added to PowerPoint application.

  4. In the tab under "TM", click "Add Timer Item". Then a text box will appears on the slide.

  5. You can go to "Format" in the ribbon to design the text box with plenty of options.

  6. Click "Copy Timer Item" under "TM" to copy it to all the existing slides in the presentation.

  7. Then click "Set Parameters" to set the time factors.

  8. A Slide Show Timer window pops up. In the "Select Option" area, choose one type you like. Then go to enter the time beside "Update display every". If you  select "Count down Timer", you have to set "Countdown parameters". Check one option for "Post slide show processing". After all, click "OK".

  9. Show the presentation, and you will see the digital clock on every slide.
