If you want to round the time to the nearest hour, the result of being passed to Round function should be divided by 24. Take rounding 10:25:21 to the nearest hour as an example.

  1. Open one Excel document, and enter 10:25:21 in the A1 cell.

  2. Type "=ROUND(A1*24,0)/24"into another cell, and press Enter. You will get the result you want.

  3. By default, you will see the result is one number such as0.416667, and maybe you don't understand the meaning. You can convert it to the date type just as the following steps. Right-click the target cell, and chooseFormat Cells in the shortcut menu.

  4. The Format Cells dialog box appears, click Time in the Category section, and choose the appropriate type in the right pane to display the date. For example, choose 13:30:55, you will get the date10:00:00 as the result. Click OK to confirm the setting.

  6. If you want to round the time to nearest minute, you should type "=ROUND(A1*1440,0)/1440" in another cell, and do as the above steps to complete that.
  7. If you want to the nearest 15 minutes (a quarter of an hour), you should type "=ROUND(A1*24/0.25,0)*(0.25/24)" in another cell, do as the above steps. 0.25represent a quarter of an hour. And so on.
