Set VLC Media Player to Shut Down Computer After Finished Playback

 VLC Media Player doesn't provide the option to shut down computer after playback, but with this third-party software, Movie Sleep Timer that will monitor VLC Media Player and put the computer to sleep after completion of a film or playlist.
Lanch Movie Sleep Timer on your computer. On the Timer tab, set a countdown timer in hours, minutes and seconds after the end of which it will either shutdown the computer or turn off the monitor

Then enable VLC tab, choose what you want to the program to do when the time is right, either turn off the monitor or shut down the compuer. 

Click the Start button and play video on your vlc player. Movie Sleep Timer starts to monitor the playback on your vlc player. If your want to abort the monitor, just click on the Stop button.
